Description

Lydia Desolon is a combined oral contraceptive pill (COC) containing the hormones desogestrel 0.15 mg and ethinylestradiol 0.03 mg.

Lydia Desolon is primarily used for contraception and prevention of pregnancy. Combined hormonal contraceptive pills work mainly by preventing ovulation. They can also make menstrual bleeding more predictable and may reduce heavy periods (menorrhagia) and painful menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea).

This is a daily contraceptive pill, not an emergency contraceptive pill. It does not protect against sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.

How to use

Take 1 tablet by mouth once daily for 21 consecutive days, following the order on the blister pack. Take the tablet at approximately the same time every day. After completing the 21 tablets, have a 7-day tablet-free interval, then start the next pack on the appropriate day. Lydia Desolon should not be used as a replacement for an emergency contraceptive after unprotected sex.
