Description
Dentamol contains paracetamol (acetaminophen) 500 mg, which relieves pain and reduces fever. The product information on the supplied pack specifically indicates use for toothache, pain following tooth extraction, headache, rheumatic pain, neuralgia, dysmenorrhoea and fever associated with colds and flu.
6. HOW TO USE / DOSAGE
Route: Oral.
Adults
1–2 tablets per dose, repeated every 4–6 hours when required, depending on the severity of pain or fever.
Children
The supplied pack gives the following dosing:
1–5 years: ¼–½ tablet every 6–8 hours, or as directed by a physician.
6–12 years: ½–1 tablet per dose.
Swallow with water. Do not exceed the recommended dose and do not use together with other medicines containing paracetamol/acetaminophen.
For young children, weight-based dosing is preferable where available.
