diclofenac 50 mg contains diclofenac sodium 50 mg, an NSAID that reduces substances responsible for pain, swelling and inflammation. It is used for painful inflammatory conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, spondylitis, acute gout, sprains, strains, bursitis, tendinitis, fracture-related pain and dental or minor surgical pain.
Diclofenac is intended for symptomatic relief and does not treat the underlying cause of conditions such as arthritis.
Route: Oral. According to the manufacturer's information for diclofenac 50 mg: Adults: 1 tablet 3 times daily. For supportive/maintenance treatment: 1 tablet 2 times daily. The maximum usual total daily dose of diclofenac is 150 mg (3 tablets). Swallow the tablet with water, preferably with or after food to reduce stomach irritation. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.
